Partnership with Sukaar Foundation

The joint efforts by EPCL and Sukaar Foundation in District Mithi, Thar Desert have led to construction of rainwater harvesting ponds, which have demonstrated the use of PVC geomembrane lining to address water-loss through seepage, which commonly occurs when concrete ponds are constructed for the same. In an extremely arid area, these ponds enable communities to meet their water needs such as potable water and water for their cattle and agriculture in a more sustainable manner, at one-third the cost of a concrete reservoir.
